Academic Clubs & Organizations

A few of the organizations and clubs are academic-based clubs.

Honors Program

This organization consists of all Honors Program students.  The members promote the ideals of Chipola College and provide peer mentoring and service-learning opportunities. Honors participants have the opportunity to explore new academic directions, receive special advising and support from faculty, and focus more directly on their academic goals.

Brain Bowl

The Brain Bowl is the college academic team; the team represents Chipola in several academic tournaments each year, including regional, state, and national tournaments, as well as hosts an annual Chipola Invitational for district high school students.  This hard-working, academically talented group has earned many awards at each level of competition. All Honors Program students are encouraged to participate in Brain Bowl activities; however, participation is open to all students

PHI THETA KAPPA

Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society, invites for membership any student who has completed 12 credit hours of coursework and achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50. Chipola’s PTK chapter is Nu Chi. Our members participate in many activities throughout the academic year, including a range of community service initiatives. Through these interactions, members build skills that will make them good leaders.

Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is a mathematics honorary society for college students. Members must have a 3.3 average overall and a 3.5 average in math.
